Hi Teaspoon13
It depends on your income. I work still work and I don't claim any allowances. If you claim allowances you should be able to get free prescription. If like me you don't then I completed a pre-paid prescription form. As soon as I started needing more than 2 things on prescription each month it was worth it. I got this form from the chemist. Make sure you get receipts for any prescriptions you pay as you should be able to claim for some. Ask your chemist that's who advised me.
Good Luck

This can depend upon your income. If your are receiving state benefits then you should be entitled to free prescriptions. You may also be eligible for free prescriptions if you have a low income. You can complete an HC1 form which, if accepted, will allow you free prescriptions. Find out more here - nhsbsa.nhs.uk/HealthCosts/1...
As the others have also mentioned, if you are not entitled to free prescriptions, it may be worth getting a Prescription Prepayment Certificate to help reduce the cost. Find out more here - nhsbsa.nhs.uk/1127.aspx
JSA doesnt give you free prescriptions. Income Support Carers Allowance, ESA but read carefully as not all do.
