It takes ages to see all consultants now! I had to pay to see gastro consultant because I was referred last October & still havnt had a letter on the NHS side yet. I was so poorly I had no option. It's a nightmare now although some areas around the country are not as bad. I'm in Wales. All the best hope you haven't got to wait too long .

Thanks tremarel main reason for asking having had a dreadful time of things on and off for past two and a half years and been told I have ibs, cfs, deppression, copd etc after my last flare 3weeks ago when I could not even walk the100 yards to my drs they came to me I had blood tests done was put on 30mg prednisolone a day which I am still on plus painkillers etc I also developed very dry eyes which meant trip to eye hospital now use drops 5 times a day looks like my hands have been beaten up which suggests raynauds still tire very easily somehow they have managed to get me an app with a rheumatologist for next week strange

Hi Alan55,

Great to hear you've got a rheumy appointment so quickly. Just a little tip that helped me. Make a note of all your symptoms no matter how trivial some may seem and take it with you to your appointment. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi

I think that varies a lot from where you are in the country to whether they feel you are urgent or routine. My initial useless appointment was quick but a failure. The referral to a second consultant in (city based hospital) took a month or so but was well worth the wait. I was just routine, improved and back to work so not urgent.

Thanks sezzie if I gave him a list of the last 21/2 years of my life might just finish the app about July time thanks again Alan
