Ferritin 8, B12 165, but HB now normal at 13,5 so doctor says I don't need iron infusion. Anyone have similar experience?

If your HB is normal - there is a chance the other stuff will sort itself out without intervention, so I expect it is a wait and see situation. Excess iron can be dangerous, too.

Both ferritin and B12 can be given on their own, so if things don't improve maybe you can have one or the other or both of those?
