Hiya I've taken that before some years ago now. I didn't help ease my symptoms at all unfortunately though it may be different for you. I have learned how to manage it by watching what I eat (avoiding sugar and alcohol and too many carbs) and doing gentle exercise. Sometimes it does flare up and I look 9months pregnant but I have to st go with the flow x

Yes I always have some in my bag, but like loopylooby I have to watch what I eat. The trick I find is take them the minute you feel any symptoms otherwise it can be too late. It is a horrible thing so not understood that when that swelling starts and with the pain it is so uncomfortable. Good luck. So many things to deal with. X ps coffee is a no no for me.

Hi,

I take it oftem - I have it prescribed as mebeverine and fybogel - I also have it on its own...

I avoid carbs as this is a big no no - have a very low sugar diet - 1/2 a spoon in coffee but only once a day...

And yes - you have to address the first sympton fast or struggle to get control...

My days wouldn't be the same without it.

Xx

Hi there,

yes i have taken buscopan but unfortunately it gave me blurred vision - a common side effect,so I now take mebeverine.

I also try to watch what I eat as wheat, dairy, spices, fatty food and most sadly chocolate make my ibs much worse.

I used to take Buscopan for stomach cramps/IBS years ago. They did not do anything for me.

But nothing, really helps me for long.I have been on Mebeverine for past few years.I find sometimes if I take them as soon as I feel any symptoms then,I am in with a chance but not always.Good Luck..

Hi Redfive, i started taking buscopan when i got severe cramps when i was first diagnosed with Lupus. This was from the result of the Cellcept Medicine. So i was taken off them immediately.

And to confuse you a little bit, i sometimes get the cramping every now and then from things like heartburn etc..the doctor recommended Lansoprazole which works a treat for stomach cramping/heart burn/acid reflux.

Ask your doctor what they would recommend for your symptoms...Good Luck

Hi i take Mebeverine and find that really good. I also juice ginger and carrot and sip it throughout the day. Hope that helps x

I took them, but it actually gave me spasm of the bile duct, and I never went near them again, it killed! :o( I hear that most people don't get things like that though and they are supposed to be good for some peeps :o)

Hi..I would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to answer my question...Its been really interesting reading the different experiences and getting ideas for changing diet...I get the painful cramps and nausea feeling but no bloating or acid reflux so I think I'll try a few diet tweeks first before going doing meds route..I loathe taking meds!Once again thanks for the advice..take care Redfive
