Hi,How many cycles of chemo was that?

Trouble is, we are all different. Where r u being treated? I was 2b. Were you given the choice of surgery or radio?

Good luck..

Thanks for replying, it'll be 2 rounds of chemo and 30 radiotherapy sessions over 6 weeks, not able to have surgery because of lymph node location and lung function not being good, treatment at velindre cancer hospital cardiff, good luck to you too.

Treatments are very personalised for lung cancer so what one may be given, may differ for somebody else. Have you asked your clinical team whether this is a usual/standard of care regime? This information may help explain further. There is a similar booklet explaining more about radiotherapy too.

probably a good idea to write them down or put them into your phone - sometimes when in the appointment we forget to ask the questions we meant to. one of the most important is to ask 'if I have more questions when I get home, who can I contact about this?' good luck.

Hi StaypOsitive

Treatment plans are formulated usually following a discussion with the multidisciplinary team. Respiratory doctors , surgeons , radiographer and oncologists put their heads together with the results of all your investigations taking into account you current fitness. A plan is formulated using their expertise , current guideline and personalised to you.

It is important if you have any uncertainty or unanswered questions about your treatment plan that you discuss this with your consultant or clinical nurse specialist.

If you require any further information or support you can contact our lung cancer information and support services on 0333 323 7200 or visit roycastle.org.

Hope all goes well with your treatment.
