Hi , after the usual ‘standard’ chemo and immunotherapy ( which seriously impacted on my kidney function and had to be stopped ) I have now been diagnosed with Exon20 mutation and offered Mobocertinib . This is exactly a year after my initial diagnosis . My stage 4 adenocarcinoma and bony secondaries were stable over the autumn, but recent scan shows new areas of growth in my lung and liver . This feels like my last chance of extending my life enough to see my 8 month old grandson reach his first birthday .

Exon20 mutation and Mobocertinib
Hello WolleySunshine,
I am sorry to hear of your recent scan results, Mobocertinib was approved by the NHS only last year for patients with Exon20 mutation who previously have been treated with chemotherapy. Previous patients who have started this drug during its clinical trial period have responded well. Mobocertinib, is taken as a tablet, which specifically targets the mutation to slow the growth of cancer cells, with manageable side effects. I have added below a direct link to our booklet on targeted therapies which has general information on what to expect with this type of treatment.
