Morning x I am new to this site & thank you for sharing your stories. My husband is 59 & we’re attending our consultation tomorrow morning for hopefully treatment available to him. He has a shadow on right lung & leg pain plus a few flecks. He had the bronchoscopy & endoscopy plus neck biopsy last week. Can anyone kindly offer any helpful questions for us please - I feel armed with questions but with all of your experiences I would be grateful & feel honoured if you could offer any please. I wish you all a warm & positive day with your loved ones. Kind regards x

Thank you so very much for your kind support & extremely useful booklet. It clarifies so many things & in addition - it has given me the courage to write down our concerns in readiness for the consultation team. You’ve also given us additional useful information. Most of all you have helped us to not feel alone in this. We thank you so much & send our warmest love to you all on your personal journeys with kind regards & grateful thanks.

hope your appointment was less daunting than imagined - it is often the not knowing that sends our imaginations into overdrive. Once the consultant has explained the results and what can be offered, then things become clearer.... hopefully you'll be assigned a lung clinical nurse specialist who often have more time to answer questions but one always worth asking is 'if I have questions after I've left here, who can I contact for more information?' good luck to you both.

Hi there. Thank you so much for your kind words - you’re right - the fear is always worse in anticipation of the actual treatment. It’s true your mind certainly goes into panic overdrive. The meeting was emotional as it was confirmed that my husbands cancer is Stage 4 lung & bone cancer. Our oncology appointment is next week where the the treatment will be designed. It really is a cliche when people use the phrase ‘roller coaster’ because your feelings really are subjected to the peaks & troughs of the stages. Scared, tears, defiance, determination & humour - no one can tell you how to feel or at what time. Of course you try to push for positivity for the treatment until your body has to cope with the effects of the Oromorph-trying to eat to build yourself up but feeling rough as your system isn’t functioning even with Movocol. .Feeling though - that once my husbands system gets used to it all he’ll feel ready to cope with the treatment. Thank you once again for your kind support - it really is comforting to know that others have been where you are but not just endured they’ve thrived too. This all helps to almost normalise things & move you out of that surreal sense of everything. Sending warmest hope for your journeys & Kindest regards
