PATCH ON LUNG 3

The CT Scan with Biopsy through a needle into the lung was carried out on Tuesday morning and after recovery my wife was allowed home late afternoon, but no driving etc for the rest of the day. The consultants meet on Friday and have patients in to discuss outcomes the following week. However, depending on work at path lab will dictate whether the wait is one week or two weeks. Received telephone call to attend next Tuesday for results so it would appear they were able to hurry up the Lab for results by this Friday. We have been warned that if this is inconclusive a more invasive procedure will have to be undertaken - however the specialist has high hopes. So we will see what happens next Tuesday at 1240.

This has all been happening since my brother in laws passing with an unexpected HA and the tests all of the children have been undertaking to find if there was a genetic problem with these sudden deaths and the spin off with my wife after a routine X Ray found this patch on her lung.

What we can both say it how absolutely amazing the family doctor has been and the swiftness these tests have been undertaken even when the alternative route was uncovered, the speed, courtesy, kindness and support have been exemplary and all tests undertaken with kindness and courtesy throughout. We are still no wiser, but continue to hope for the best in the knowledge that the service could not be bettered.

That includes the help and support received through these pages for which I thank you personally. Will update you on the outcome of next Tuesday

Dear ticking ticker,

Thanks for the update.Waiting for test results can be overwhelming.Hopefully on Tuesday the specialist will discuss what is the best plan of treatment.Effective management requires time, empathy and trust.Your family have been through a very stressful time but it is reassuring that your wife's care to date has been managed efficiently.

Please don't hesitate to call the Helpline Freephone 0800 358 7200 if you would like to speak to one of the nurses.

So glad your wife doesn’t have to wait long until her appointment as the waits for results are inevitably anxious times so obviously the shorter such periods are the better. You are clearly going through an extremely difficult time as a family and I am very sorry to hear about all you are coping with, but it sounds as if the medics involved are excellent. I think it helps considerably when you have confidence in those with whom you are dealing. I hope you come away from your wife’s appointment next Tuesday with a clear treatment plan.

Sending best wishes to you, your wife and family. 🌻

Sounds as if you're receiving superb care and attention. Your approach also sounds very pragmatic - will keep fingers crossed for your next stage of what can sometimes be a scary and bewildering experience. take care.

Thank you all for your kind words.
