Hi everyone! Just out of hospital today and at home again, pure bliss!! Thank you all for your continued support and advice, my surgery seems to have went well and the surgeons are pleased with my progress. The hospital and staff at the Royal in Belfast were just fantastic. I had right lower lobe of lung removed with 5 lymph nodes, only one of which was affected so my prognosis looks positive. A decision will be made next week at Multi D meeting whether or not I need any other treatment. I'm bit stiff and sore at minute but will get some clips of wound out on Thursday & the rest out on Friday. Then on Monday I'll get sutures out from chest drain. Just so so glad to be back home again. Thanks again everyone for your continued support and will keep in touch with my continued progress. Bye for now. Hilary. X

Brilliant news Hilary that sounds a really positive result so far. I'm in Harefield Hospital at the minute they have drained the lung and glued it down. Which I think means they can't take the lung out anyway. But we should get a diagnosis before Christmas. hopefully I'll be home tomorrow as well. Xx Jeanne

Hi Hilary, so glad it all went well for you ! Just do what you can when you can, and dont feel guilty if you have a day where you dont feel like doing anything at all, rest is just as important as exercise. Take care

Hi Hilary, I was exactly where you are now 18th months ago. I underwent a course of preventative chemo (my choice) and now feel perfectly well! Apart from occasional breathlessness I am now back to where I used to be and looking forward again! I'm sure you will be posting on here in 18 months or so to re-assure a new member of our 'club'. Very good luck to you (and to you also Jeanne!). Try to enjoy Xmas and very best wishes to you for 2015. Positive vibes to you all xx

Brilliant news, Dont go overdoing it if you still have the drain in. As you may have discovered, you can get some ouchy moments

I am also in the 6 year club. I am scheduled for my last scan next October & My Doctor says that will be the last if still okay.

I never had chemo just Radiotheraphy before my op.

Not what you're looking for?
