Anyone else on maintenance pemetrexed and keytrunda following 4 cycles of pemetrexed and keytrunda and carboplatin ,if so what is QOL like ? I have just got the last cycle to do, feeling rubbish and I cannot imagine how maintenance chemo feels . Trying to be upbeat but I is this the right way to go, if I cannot get some level of normality going , ie swimming walking and going out and having fun again .

Diane55, most chemo makes you feel unwell. My wife has just had her first Carboplatin and Etoposide. The thing to remember is Rome wasn't built in a day. Things will go back to normal just be strong! Good Luck and God Bless.

Thank you for your response ,wish your wife well I know how difficult chemo can be. I just don't really know what maintenance chemo is like .
Hi Diane
Feel for you. I don't know anyone who has liked having chemo but if you must you must. I don't know if your chemo is through the vein or a tablet. Mine was through the vein and uncomfortable to say the least. But we all differ.
Be thinking of you and you will get through it.
Stay strong and let me know how you get on.
Best wishes

Dear diane55
Having any form of chemotherapy can certainly change your quality of life, however this usually settles once the course is completed. It does take time, and ensure that any changes in symptoms or health as in how you are feeling at the moment to discuss with your specialist nurse or Oncologist.
As you know everyone is different in their reactions to any form of medication and if you wish to discuss anything please feel free to call us on our Freephone nurse led helpline number on 0800 358 7200.
All the very best

Hi Diane. Ive been on pemetrexed as a maintenance cycle since oct 17 after 3 months of cisplatin. Ive found the side effects a lot easier than cisplatin. Yep im often tired and domt want to do anything but after the 5 day period, it gets easier.
