My mum has recently gone through 6 rounds of chemo and 6 weeks of chest radiotherapy, followed by 2 weeks of brain radiotherapy - for small cell lung cancer stage 3!
My poor mum has had 8 months of hell since her diagnosis in March , in and out of hospital from side effects, blood clots in her spleen and kidneys, c diff and AKI’s and seeing her so ill was heartbreaking.
We went Thursday for results of her latest scan and it was the most amazing news - they could not detect the cancer, the tumour has gone and lymph nodes returned to normal size!!! We know this doesn’t mean she is cured but it’s a step in the right direction!
I just wanted to share to give people hope.

Thank you so much for sharing the news about your Mum, especially after the ill health that she has had. It is always encouraging to hear how things can change in a good way unexpectedly and gives hope to others.
That is amazing news sclc is a horrid cancer and she has done well to fight it. It's nice to hear that some people are still having some resistant to this ugly thing.
