Liver mets

Apparently after having a ct scan the mets in my liver have increased and grown. The lungs are looking not to shabby. Due to paclitaxel not working on that area Drs are going to come up with new plan? I'm scared because it's my liver , does this mean my life expectancy has been cut down again or can they treat liver mets successfully? Has anyone been through this ? Any advice welcome 😐

I am very sorry that you did not have better news following your scan and it’s understandable you are worried about your prognosis. It is very difficult to say what will happen. Only your own specialist can guide you, as they have all the medical information about you in your case records. Even then, they can only give you a general idea. Your individual outlook depends on many factors including how quickly the cancer is growing, and how it responds to treatment. Once your specialist has told you about the next plan of care and what this means for you following your recent CT scan results, he/she will be able to talk this through with you and you can then ask some questions.

You may find it helpful to take a relative or friend with you to the clinic, it’s sometimes helpful to talk things over with a close relative or friend. You may also have contact with a specialist nurse at the hospital you can talk to.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the Helpline 0800 358 7200 if we can be of any assistance.

With kind regards,
