I think its only after chemo has been tried and failed. If your mum has adenocarcinoma.....not squamous.....then the oncologist applies for nivolumab under the early access to medicines scheme. They apply to the drug manufacturer, but he will know that.

Best wishes

I was told it is considered a 2 nd line treatment, meaning your tried chemo and failed.

My husband has same diagnosis and trying to get into a trial study using immudrugs.

The Oncologist managing your mum’s care would be able to access treatments that they think may be beneficial to her.

An informative link on Nivolumab is cancerresearch.org - search Nivolumab (Opdivo). I hope this is helpful.

At Roy Castle we are currently looking for information from anyone receiving Nivolumab from a patient’s prospectus. It would be good to hear from you once treatment has started for you mum.

Best Wishes
