Treatment for severe constipation after chemo

Help can anybody advise me what kind of a laxative I can take for CHRONIC constipation after having first chemo last Thursday.

Hi there, try Dulcolax, one of my chemo nurses suggested it to me and it certainly helped as I had real bad constipation. You should also see if your own chemo nurse has any remedies.

Hi I had severe constipation too so my chemo nurse gave me laxido sachets to dissolve in water I then made sure 2 days before I started useing them again to prevent it happening and it worked, good luck..

Laxido I agree. I was bad too and I walked out of the hospital with a carrier bag full to the point it was embarrassing so they should be able to supply you with some. Drink plenty of fluids - easier said than done sometimes.

Hi there get some movicol sachets off doctor really works quite quickly don't leave it as it will make you feel awful try also prune juice and innocent orange juice . Hope it works take care

Really your hospital should be supplying you. I had laxidos and movicol.But they should be on the ball with this.You need to start it straight away.Its their job to tell you.
