Had my visit yesterday - he still is not leaning towards a recurrence and had multiple people review the scans. 50% suggested biopsy other 50% suggested 3 month follow up scan. None suggested to go in for further surgery at this point. I have decided to do the biopsy and am waiting to schedule. He reviewed the scan with me an feels that due to the low intensity of the SUV and location near suture lines it is of a low level concern. Although it did light up slightly - this is the first PET since surgery (5 years ago ), there is no frame of reference of change from other post surgical PET. CT scans show very slight change in scar area which he said is normal as scars evolve. Hoping for the best - he felt regardless if it needs to come out it will be done without issue......off to work through emotions with my therapist today.

That’s encouraging! I like that your Doctor consulted with others. Prayers & Good thoughts while you wait to have biopsy & results.

It’s awesome that you have chosen to go the more proactive way. You and your doctor made the best decision for you. I’m glad to read that your doctor took this to the tumor board.
