Recommend a lung oncology

Hello all,

I'm new here. I was diagnosed non-small cell lung cancer in 2009. I had surgical treatments, radiation, chemotherapy and even on medical trail Poziotinib for couple months. I had to stop the medicine since the side-effects so bad. I currently do not have any treatment since I've tried all. I have low fever (99.3-100.2) everyday in the afternoon and feel fatigue. Do you think I should see oncology? If yes, any recommendation? I lives in silicon valley, CA.

thanks.

perhaps you should contact your primary care physician first for an opinion.

You should be under the care of an oncologist. If you need names, ask the doctor who was treating you, or your primary care physician?

You should be under the care of at least your primary care physician, and an oncologist.

Thanks. I'm a visitor here and my primary care physician and oncologist are in Canada. I can't travel back due to the pandemic. I prefer to see oncologist directly since my symptoms are all related to cancer. I only have travel insurance in the US, which doesn't cover health. Any suggestion?

It was stage 3 but I haven't had a scan for more than 9 months. I have been stuck in the US and can't offer to have scan frequently. Does anyone know if there are some medical trial for nsclc?

Hello syqian ,

I'm sorry to hear you have been stuck in the US? How long have you been in the Silicon Valley area? If you are planning to travel back to Canada, I linked information about the travel advisory and insurance information here: travel.gc.ca/travelling/hea...

While there are clinical trials for NSCLC, it sounds like you are in need of an oncologist to evaluate current condition since you haven't seen an oncologist or had a scan for some time now. GO2 has a list of treatment centers listed by state, I linked California here: go2foundation.org/treatment...

Once you see one in your area that you might want to consider, you could call and ask if they have a charity program or sliding scale that you may qualify for. For example, see Stanford's webpage about financial assistance here: stanfordhealthcare.org/for-... or UCSF's information here: ucsfhealth.org/billing-and-...

I hope this information is helpful to you.
