Good morning friends šŸ˜Š

I wanted to post a quick update in regards to that super long post I made about my breast implants and thinking they were causing all my issues. I had them deflated in November and am scheduled for surgery to remove the shells on January 20th. After a lot of research and a zillion tests...I was wrong about the implants causing my issues. The saline that was drained and the surrounding tissues have all been biopsied and they came back 100% normal. I let this latest hysteria convince me that something that caused me NO problems for 27 years...was now causing a problem. I am not replacing my implants nor am I having a breast lift. To put myself through a long recovery with drains and risk of infection so close to my lungs would just be silly. As it turns out, my adrenal glands are not functioning correctly. They are over producing cortisol and that can cause a whole host of symptoms. I donā€™t usually believe the hype and drama I see on the internet but I guess I was so desperate for an answer...that I drank the kool aid. Breast implants are safe for most people as long as the proper breast health protocols are followed. You canā€™t just get them and then forget them. Surgeons need to tell their patients that these are not a forever thing. They WILL need to be replaced at some point and they can cause a rare cancer (although you have better odds of winning the lottery)

So..I apologize if I caused anyone to get nervous about their implants. Better to be safe than sorry but I didnā€™t mean to cause any panic. I hope everyone is doing well and I wish you a happy and healthy new year!

So glad for you that this has resolved this way. I thought it was the implants with the textured finish that caused implant disease. Youā€™ve been through so much Iā€™m glad you finally caught a break. Iā€™m sure that adrenal issue is miserable but Iā€™m sure it will be an easier time than more surgery.

Glad to read that the mystery was solved. I hope you are feeling better.

Thank you for being strong enough to correct things!! Sorry to her that your adrenal glands are the issue and praying that resolving it will not prove to be difficult. When we are frightened it is very easy to hold on to whatever makes sense to us - that is why it is so important to talk to the oncologist and get to the right answer!
