Ct scan says interval development of patchy and confluent opacification in the upper portion of the right hemithorax around the site of resection. Additionally there is a nodule anteriorly image 113 of series 6 measuring 11 x

13 mm abutting the pleura this appears adjacent to a component of pleural

effusion. Small volumes of consolidation present, as mentioned in the right hemithorax superiorly. Traction bronchiectasis is present at the site of

LINDA CABRAL 08/07/2018

resection. Interval development of a right pleural effusion the greatest thickness of the effusion measures 2.4 cm. No left-sided pulmonary nodules or consolidation.

What do I think?? Cancer is back cause it showed module 11x13 mm?

Or do I listen to a nurse saying the module is showing cause radiation and the healing of resection??

I see that no one has replied to you yet, I am very sorry. This is the first time it was in my email (no idea why it wasn't there 3 days ago). Anyway, I was in your shoes not too long ago. My advice to you; at least for now, listen to the nurse and try not to worry about it.

I had a chest x-ray less than 2 weeks after having my upper right lobe removed for LC. There was a "spot" on my right middle lobe over 2 cm which the radiologist said was "suspicious for a recurrence", he suggested another PET scan. He scared the crap out of me, but I kept telling myself that there was no way a new tumor could grow that big that fast, and if was in there when I had the surgery, my surgeon would have seen it. The surgeon said it was normal post op bruising and would heal with time, but I was still very worried so I asked my oncologist who said most likely just post op bruising and maybe a little fluid buildup (all normal). He said to give myself time to heal. I also had my primary care look at the x-ray and give me his opinion (I have faith in my surgeon, I trust my oncologist, but I trust my PCP the most) he agreed with my oncologist, and told me we would keep an eye on it because he knew I was worried. Two months post surgery a new x-ray showed same spot with no change. About 2 weeks ago (at just over 3 months post op) a new x-ray showed improvement, the "spot" is still there, but it is a little smaller.

You are only 3 months post op, you are still healing. Plus the radiation can cause scarring. At this point, I would tell myself that "if it was there when I had surgery, the surgeon would have seen it. So I am not going to obsess about it, but I will make sure it is watched."

Do you know what type of cancer you had and what stage? Why did they do radiation?

My first time (5 years ago) I was stage 2 squamous cell LC, I did some chemo, but no radiation. I was told the tumor was removed (along with my entire upper left lobe), so there was nothing to radiate. Three and a half months ago I lost the upper right lobe, but I was stage 1A squamous cell LC, no chemo needed and no radiation.

Keep in touch, let me know how you are doing.

See what your oncologist says tomorrow, but make sure they keep an eye on it. If it is scar tissue, it should stay that size.

I I got really dizzy and went into the hospital and the doctor took another MRI today Sunday and it came back positive for a 4 cm tumor in my back lube Sierra Pella I believe so I have no to know long cancer but now I have stage for because it spread to my brain unless the tumor is benign which I doubt any thoughts

I have tumors in both lungs, non operable, I do cts every 8 to 12 weeks. Also brain mets, so MRI every 8 weeks. Although it's no fun, they are making sure it isn't growing, so I'm ok with it. I don't know that nurses should give you info. Your Dr would talk with you if it was right?🙂

Warm regards,

Paris

Hi Lovey, this just showed up on my thread today so this is why this is a delayed response. I am a 6 year survivor III A/B lung cancer ( max lung radiation, lobectomy top right lobe, 2+ years chemotherapy ). My advice to you is straightforward: do not jump to any conclusions, probe your specialists with your questions and concerns, if a new issue does arise, then deal with it directly at that time, breathe deep and live & enjoy your life. I know I have made it sound simple, but believe me it works. I have had my share of hiccups along the way, and indeed am facing another at present, but a positive attitude is both tremendously beneficial and essential. All Best Wishes, judg69

I feel weak maybe it’s the flu not sure but the cm node found was scar tissue that’s what my oncologist said, now I threw up and I’m so weak and I finished radiation may 20 so maybe after side effects

Everything negative in ct scan. I am in the hospital right now waiting for my cyst out of my brain removed. The dr thinks it’s cancer but it’s in water and it went to pathology Tuesday so we don’t know if it’s cancer or just a Cyst the thing is 5 ct scans show negative cancer. My neo surgeon was sure it was cancer and he will remove it and I guess I will radiated to kill it
