CAT/CT Scan Results

Relatively good news. The scan showed high metabolic involvement in three lymph nodes and the same 8mm nodule in the right upper lung lobe. Nothing else showed up in the eyes-to-mid thigh scan so all involvement is confined to the thoracic area. This coming Wednesday I will get the MRI with contrast that will be looking for any metastasis to the brain. If nothing is found, the cancer recurrence will be staged as IIIA, which means we will take a curative approach to a therapy plan.

Fingers crossed. I'll keep you updated.

No need to reply to this. I already feel the good vibes........and they are greatly appreciated.

SusieJo,

We all have inner strength that we can tap in to. I think the secret is to have the faith that can unlock that strength.

I know that I’m going to die. The shock with lung cancer is suddenly realizing that it may happen sooner, not later.

I may have been knocked down, but I will get up as long as it is physically possible. I don’t look at it as a fight. It’s just something I must do.

I cry for those I may leave behind...... I was driving on an errand the other day and suddenly experienced a deep sadness — tears in eyes.

Thank you, SuzieJo. Thank you all for sharing.

Rick

Suzie, nice comment from your heart. It's not my wife, it was a woman who was diagnosed on the same day as me in 2014. We became the best support group. My wife and I came home from the funeral just a little while ago. Tough morning, but everything is okay. Thanks for writing!

Susie Jo,

I think, if you keep your great attitude, you will be okay in the long run. You are obviously a very caring person. I hope you have someone close. I have my wife, siblings, daughters, grandchildren and friends. Even if I tried to give up, they wouldn’t let me.

My best wishes are with you.

Rick
