Hello I'm well thanks how are you? I'm quite new to this site also and i think it would be good to chat with someone in my age group that can understand the ups and downs we go through with having lymphoedema I'm 61 yrs young
Hello I am now 60 and have been diagnosed with lyphoedema of both my legs since 2005. I wear trousers most of time and when I wear skirts I wear long ones. As most of my clothes are black I wear black compression socks (knee length), if I wear white skirts I have white compression socks. Some companies make blue stockings/socks.
Hi I am 61, I have Lymphoedema of the Breast and Posterior Chest Wall. Diagnoed 15 months ago, thought I was dealing with it quite well. However, the thought that this is life long has hit me quite badly this week. My biggest problem is that other people can't see mine and therefore don't believe how uncomfotable it gets. I consider myself lucky that I have good support around me. Sorry for the moan, bit down right now.
Hi there im sorry your feeling down but please dont feel bad about itcause it happens to all of us we all need to talk sometimes and it helps when people understand your feelings im a good listener so dont be alone
Hi, thank you for your kind words, feeling better now. I have a yearly Mammogram at the end of this week very apprehensive they are not. comfortable at the best of times but very difficult when you have breast lymphoedema. It really does help to talk to someone who has more of an understanding. So thank you.
Hi I have juat joined I am 64 next month. I have had Lymphoedema in both legs since 2000
Hi, I am 61, newly diagnosed. I thought my swollen legs were my own fault for being overweight! I mostly wear black trousers and try to find tops that don't cling to my swollen abdomen but still look a bit stylish. I'd love to hear of ideas for dressing a little differently without looking foolish.
I only came across your comment now. I was thinking if it won't be a good idea to get tops that tie in the front ort add bows around the front so as to make it appear as if these are making your abdomen bigger, a kind of a trick to hide in a way the problem and in the same time to have a change.
Hi rebec you dont say if your lymphoedema is in your arm or not but i dont advise anything that makes your tummy look bigger bows are great for disguising but they need to de strategically places to draw the eyes away from problem areas .... hope this helps
