Weeping on legs and swollen feet

I have had eczema from child birth.. I was treated by dermatologist and over time the condition was getting better.

About 6 years back i was completely cured.. What a feeling it was. 😊I was ws using only coconut oil.

In 2020 when Covid started.. My family was affected and give some herbal remedies to help them. I was not affected but took the medication that was given to them for some protection. Since then my skin has been disturbing and erupted again. The dry skin returned and un easy red inflammation.😭

Iv been try many alternatives to heal back. But no help.😢😩

In February this year i developed cellulitis on both my feet. I visted my Gp who put me on Drip and prescribed antibiotics and cortisone. The swelling subsided in 2 days.

Now i have soft fine tissue tear.. 😢And the skin drys up into scale like fissure. The skin weeps as well if i stand too long on my legs from the knee down😭. Iv been using Vaseline n falx seed oil or coconut oil as an application.

Is this the recovery process after cellulitis??.or Cortisone withdrawal symptoms?? The Gp prescription asked i take the attached tablets along with Ecotrin and clindahexal as well.

Please assit me with what I need to do.

Thanks

I see from your profile that you are in South Africa. Why have you been prescribed methotrexate - do you have an auto-immune condition? Have you received any vaccine for Covid? Could the herbal remedies you took been the cause of the skin deterioration?

Keep your legs clean by using a simple soap, pat them dry rather than rubbing and apply a simple un-perfumed cream. If your legs are weeping, use absorbent dressings held on using a crepe bandage - some of my clients have been quite creative with large areas of ‘weeping’ by using sanitary pads (I know you are a man - might need to think outside the box!) - whatever you try, avoid anything with an adhesive edge - this can cause more skin irritation.

Do you have access to a dermatologist who might be able to assess you? Do you have lymphoedema or did the cellulitis appear suddenly? Cortisone can be magic at reducing acute swelling, but it can be difficult to stop using it. The standard treatment in my personal experience for cellulitis is generally antibiotics for 14 days - much depends on the individual and their medical history.
