Hi all,
I haven’t posted on here for a while but 4 year ago I had swelling that after all the other test revealed nothing I was referred to LD clinic and after having legs checked just by eye I was diagnosed with bilateral Lymphoedema and issued with full leg open toe compressions.
My last app was 10 month ago and only wore compressions for 2 weeks after that and been again today for check up and after measurements it showed my left lower leg reduced by 76ml and left thigh 480ml and right lower leg 78ml and right thigh 520ml which she said was 3cm of each thigh but I don’t no how they work it out.
After she told me results I came clean and apologised for not being honest and told her that I haven’t wore my compressions for 9 and a half month and she could not figure out how they had reduced like that not wearing the stockings and I didn’t think I should have new ones as it’s just a waste of nhs money so she discharged me and said if my legs start to swell to get another referral from my doctors to go back.
Maybe I was right all along as my legs weren’t that bad to start with just a bit swelling round ankles which did just about go back to normal after my thyroxine dosage was increased so maybe that had something to do with it I don’t no but would like to hear wat other people think about my legs.
I am flying from uk to Spain in sept to my sisters but only 2hrs & 15 mins flight but I will put compressions on as flight socks.
Thanks for reading Bev.
