Lymphedema right side of abdomen

Hi

I was diagnosed with lymphedema in my right leg last summer, this year. This was after quite a bit of surgery in 2013 after finding pre cancerous cells after a smear test. My GP referred me to physio for swelling in my abdomen in 2014... thinking it was scar tissue - just found out from lymphedema nurse that it's not scar tissue but lymphedema...! Very frustrating. I'm wearing firm / medium support knickers but it's not helping with the swelling. It's only on my right side of lower abdomen- so it's making me look fat. Apart from discomfort and pain at night if I lie on my side, has anyone got any ideas of how to relieve the swelling please? Thanks much appreciated xx
