Lymphoedema + morton's neuroma

Hi all,

Glad to find this LSN group as I've always felt alone with my condition!

Newbie here with primary lymphoedema from age 12 but now diagnosed with 2 very painful Morton's neuromas nearly 40 years of age (in the same right foot). Due to have both excised as steroid injections haven't worked. Anyone had this or any experience of this please?

I think the Morton's came about as I wore normal shoes for work and possibly foot got squashed a lot over time. Foot is swollen from the Lymphie but the neuropathic pain is so unbearable.

Hello Huqsvarna, I also have terrible neuropathic pain and plantar fasciitis as well from ill fitting footwear. Sandals that are adjustable with Velcro are my friend now! I used to be embarrassed by my feet before, but oh well this is who I am and the way God made me. I have my sandals altered and my feet thank me for it as they sweat like crazy! God bless and peace ✌️

Cheers

Kenton 😎

I also have primary LE in both feet and legs I was diagnosed 30yrs ag with Morton's Neuroma was offered surgery as i havw been told not to have any injections in tge affected limb and 10yrs ago Plantar Fasciitis which is extremely painful and can only walk a few steps before i need to sit down. I have to wear wide soft fitted shoes from Cosy Toes in UK Mail Order Since 1973 when I had a boney spur removed from one foot the swelling in my foot got much worse thats why they have advised no more injections or surgery in my limbs

How do other lymphies deal with Plantar Fasciitis?

Thanks all for your responses. It's a little comforting knowing there are others like me with similar issues.

My mortons neuromas will both be removed from my right foot - next week on 29 Dec.

A bit nervous but must now come out; just hope the LE swelling already there won't complicate the healing. Fingers and toes crossed.

Keen to hear and learn from others on how to manage the swelling post surgery? Any tips to encourage healing as it was mentioned that this might be slower due to the LE?

Al the best to you all!
