My name is Emma I am 36. I was born with a rare medical condition now known as Proteus Syndrome which effected the growth of my limbs and my Lymphatic system and ment that I have lived with Lymphoedema from birth. I have only recently come to know about the LSN but so pleased I have.

Hi Emma welcome to our group! Is your Lymphoedema in your legs or elsewhere? I hope you've been referred to your local Lymphoedema Clinic. If you haven't your GP can refer. It's important you receive advice relevant to your condition and are fitted for compression garments at the Clinic.

Thank you all for your welcome...

I have bilateral Lymphoedema in my legs and have been wearing compression stockings since I was about 14 although refused to wear them quite a lot then... I have been under the care of the Lymphoedema clinic at St catherine's Hospice for the last 8yrs or so and they are brilliant and it is well managed at the moment. The thing I have found most difficult is finding shoes that I like and are comfortable to wear as due to my medical condition I take a size 15!
