Hi Sheila

Any muscular movement stimulates the lymphatic system, including deep (diaphragmatic or abdominal) breathing. You don't say if it's upper or lower limb but either way swimming is very useful as you are getting everything moving but supported by water, and water also exerts its own pressure on the limbs. Also yoga, pilates and other bodywork disciplines where you are moving limbs in a careful and controlled way. Your local library may have a list of local classes. Other posters on this forum have suggested other activities. I think LSN may have a DVD showing suitable exercises for upper and lower lymphoedema as well.

Good luck ingetting something that suits you x

I can't comment on the use of toning tables for lymphoedema as I didn't have it when I used to go many years ago. I really enjoyed the toning tables when I used them and they did my body good. The only reason I gave up was because they closed down. Anything is worth a try. Good luck with your decision x

It took 2 years for me to resume socialising within my network of close friends who have no connection with my last employment. I have recently also resumed gym attendance and have completed training in Naming & Partnership Celebrancy. I am now hitting marketing trail, specialising in naming ceremonies on the Fylde Coast/LANCASHIRE. It has been a long slog, but finally feeling I have a worthwhile role ...
