Red, burning feet while having a shower.

Hi! I have lymphodema on right whole leg and left only up to the knee. I wear all day 4th compression class stockings and when I take them off in the evening and take a shower my right foot gets soooo hot, red and it hurts very much. It stays for half an hour or longer and then everything is ok, but I'm affraid it's going to be worse within years. Do you have such trouble as well? What do you do then?

Honestly I'm frightened. I already has had the miscrosurgery in Italy, I'm using lympha press dwice a day- it's 3 hours, I'm wearing 4th compression class and my leg still swells during the day. Of course I keep it really slim due to taking care so much, but it won't get better, will it?

Hey! I have the same . I think it is from having your leg with compression all day and then take it away the leg starts to swell and have bad circulation so you get pressure and then this strange feeling and color. That is why i take showers just before going to bed , really short and with almost cold water. I do scrub the leg (not with a product but a glove) gently from down to upper region with circular movement . After that i go to bed , put on some gel , elevate the legs and do self mld and deap breathing. I make it a ritual :) so it is normal. Do not despair mine aggrevates during years too but hope is on the way. Please check my post ' Hope' a bit earlier!! I believe there is coming light at the end of the tunnel and we will benefit soon...

I'm sooo sorry for those 5 months, but i've had some problems. Thank you so much for your reply. I think we have to find our way of dealing with lymphedema since every case is diffrent and there is no perfect remedy.

I'll try your ritual :)

I had to stop the wrapping as te pain afterwards was unbearable also I wear support stockings as they are not as tight as the compression ones. I try to have my legs massaged lightly as they always are painful to the touch can anyone suggest a cream that would alleviate the pain?

I'm really sorry for being so late, but I always use some cream with urea. They are the best for me :)

Best wishes and thanks for your reply.

Hello Alecsleg! My mother has lymphedema on left leg aprox from 15 years and the leg is very swollen. Please tell me, are you happy with the results of surgery? what was the cost of the surgery? the leg circumference was reduced? how much? thank you!

Hi! Sorry for such delay. No, I'm not satisfied with results of this surgery. There is a diffrence between circuts before and after surgery (theoretically

its better) but my leg is swelling faster and it's not as easy as it used to be to get rid of it despide wearing those 4th class stockings and having massages dwice a day.

Plus I have a hudge scar and 3 blue marks from a contrast. And really often half of my thigh is paintful :(

If you have more questions write here- aleksleg@o2.pl - I promise to answer asap, not like here.
