How to overcome?
Hello
I stopped smoking 15 months ago , I joined the quit stop smoking on here but stopped on my own due to taking physically ill and knowing that was a warning and now was the time even though if I am truly honest had it not been for my health scare I would still be smoking as I enjoyed it and unlike some I did find smoking helped me with my anxiety and stress
There is no wonder you feel stressed , we are stopping a habit even you could say an addiction as well as the world at the moment feels like it has been turned upside down , this will be having an impact to
Are you using any patches , gum or anything to try and support your quit ?
I used patches but ended up vaping which I know there are theories about vaping but still they do not have all the crap cigarettes contain and it has helped me not pick up another one
I have no magic wand wish I did that I can take this feeling from you , it is early days and if you really want to stop you have to ride through it but I can assure you that as a smoker heavy one at that of many years that suffers with sever anxiety if I can do it and anyone can
If you are not already maybe think of some nicotine replacement just to give you a helping hand till you feel less stressed
Know this will pass though and won't feel like this forever
Good Luck
Take Care x
Thank you lulu. Day by day things getting better.hoping more peace soon.
Just take it a day at a time , an hour even sometimes a minute , it does get better , I know at times you feel it never will but it does , all the chemicals that were in your body have left bow and your body has started to heal , this is the mind now , the habit talking and making you feel this way but it will pass
There are days after 15 months I could just think O that's it I am getting a packet I am sure I would be calmer but then I say I will wait till tomorrow and the next day is better
You can do this x
Three weeks is a great start! I quit in 2015 when I first switched to ecigs before completely stopping and the electronic cigs were really helpful to me. Another thing helpful was guilt of not wanting my kids to see me smoke and that my teeth would get stained easily. So maybe keep in mind the reasons most important to you as to why you are quitting. Best to you!
Fresh air , exercise and positivity.
