Dry heaves: Does anyone ever get dry... - Living with Anxiety
Dry heaves
Hello Dorsey
Dry heaving is very common , I know people that do not suffer with anxiety to the extent that we do yet when they are anxious or worried they literally start heaving to the point where I have thought they were going to be sick
I am sorry you feel the medication you have tried has not helped , it can take a good 3 months and sometimes trying several different one's before you find the one that is right for you , do you think speaking with your Doctor about looking at your medication might help , with a view to trying you on something different ? not sure if you have had any therapy for your anxiety but again so many have to have therapy several times before they actually feel the benefit from it again your Doctor could refer you
I know anxiety is very unpleasant and we can feel it will never improve but it does , the thing is it can be a slow process and I know for me as well as others we are not very good at been patient with ourselves when it comes to anxiety but that is what is needed and any small improvement we notice is a positive
Take Care x
Thank you i have tried a few different meds tried a new one 2 weeks ago thought i was dying and ended up at hosp. They told me not to take it i will go back and try again. Thanks for your advice maybe i shoud see a therapist.
I think looking at the route of Counselling might be a good idea , you would certainly not feel any worse for trying
Let us know how you get on x
I often feel nauseous with Anxiety ~ feel I want to be sick but aren't ( if you know what I mean) As I said in my reply yesterday ~ try drinking peppermint or ginger tea ~ it does help.Anxiety causes all sorts of problems ( none of them nice) Just sometimes talking to some one can help~ just to get it off your chest. Hope this is of some help 🙂
Fortunately I don't suffer with this problem of dry heaving. I can imagine how debilitating it must be and how unwell you must have felt. Do you have someone to hold your hand while this phase lasts? Not sure what else to suggest other than perhaps focus on your breathing.
Hope this phase of your anxiety is going to pass quickly.
Thanks kez doesn't happen all the time but when it does it scares me. I have so many overwellming symptoms think i have run out of options. Some days i feel so ill i don't know which way to turn. The last tablet i tried for four days landed me in ER thought i was dying they told me not to take them Have tried several none have worked for me. Havee attacks in the middle of the night. Panic thinking i have cancer or something is going undetected. I know it's in my mind so it's always there day in day out. The only releif i have is for a couple of hours here and there bee like this for 2 years.
Hi I saw this post on google because I did this today and I have been doing this on and off for a long time. I have Complex PTSD. And when I have emotional flashbacks or have strong emotions come up from my past it seems to cause this its like I get this rush so fast of fear that I cant control it and its so overwhelming I feel the need to let it out of me physically and barf I end up dry heaving and barfing a little of "it" out I am just theorizing but heard a couple of other peoples stories on the internet. SO you arnt alone. Hope things have been fairing better in the last 2 years. God Bless!
