hi my name is julie i am 32 years old i have triple x syndrome this is basically an extra sex chromosome. i have anxiety as part of this condition. i saw a doctor yesterday who totally dismissed all my symptoms because i have an anxious character. i now feel very anxious about telling anyone when i have symptoms. does anyone else get this from doctors when they find out they have an anxious character?

Hello Hidden
Yes is my reply I have had this happen so many times I have lost count !
It is so annoying and frustrating and I sometimes think by dismissing everything and putting it down to anxiety can be an easy way out for some doctors not all but some
What I now do is turn round and say I don't agree !
I always say , I accept I am anxious and I accept my anxiety may be making things feel worse but I know and don't accept that what I am suffering with is just down to anxiety so I would like some further investigating done
When you put it like that it can be hard to refuse you and if they did they would or should put on your notes you asked for something more to be done and they refused which does not look good so usually they will maybe reluctantly but nether the less send you for more investigations
Give it a try and if the doctor you see you feel is not listening then see another one , can be in the same surgery but they may listen more , it is your body and I think we know when something deep down is anxiety or we have got something other than anxiety so don't let them keep fobbing you of because it is easier for them !
If you need a chat you know where we are and let us know how you get on
Take Care x
thank you for your lovely reply it helps.
