Hello John1995 & Welcome
I am curious now if your girlfriend is a member or she found this Community maybe via Google search , you don't have to answer that but glad you have found us
I would say this is Health anxiety , if your anxiety is focused just on your health as well as all the symptoms you have listed you are feeling even though I know it is hard to believe anxiety can and does cause them
Have you been checked out by your Doctor ?
This could be the first thing to do if you haven't , get the all clear and then start focusing on dealing with your Health Anxiety , maybe some Counselling or therapy which again your Doctor could refer you for and it is always better to catch this anxiety quick before it takes complete hold as the quicker we get support the quicker we can let anxiety know it is no friend of ours and we can start enjoying life once again
Personally at your age I would doubt very much that anything is psychically wrong with you but I don't doubt that Health Anxiety is trying to creep in
Always someone to talk to or relate , I hope others will say a quick hello to you to let you know you are welcome and if you need someone to listen we are here
Thanks for your long msg! My girlfriend just found it on Google for me and asked my download the app. I lived in Sydney Australia, I have chatted with the GP here and once time I had chest pain for a week and I went to emergency for that, doctor done the blood test, ECG and Xray for me and they said I'm very health and nothing wrong with my heart can be anexity cause this. I was worrying my heart so much and I kept searching on Google. Cause anexity and heart problem can be the same
Australia what a beautiful place to live I am in the UK
Obviously are Health Care will be different as we have the NHS , not sure what you have in Australia ?
The worse thing you can do is start looking on Google , it always will throw out the worse scenario possible , but remember it does not have your medical records as well as it has never examined you or done tests on you but those Doctors have so I would put my trust in them
When something has created fear in us it feeds of this fear and keeps this anxiety going we have to break that pattern which is never easy once that seed in our heads have been planted but with the right support we can get control back , if you can see your own Doctor I would and explain how this is all affecting you x
It’s so good you have found this site so early on as I’ve suffered with anxiety disorders a very long time and only found the site a month or so ago.
Everyone here are so kind and supportive.
I would be unsure as to which anxiety it is, I had my first panic attack at 19 and I’m 35 now , at the start I experienced lots of the symptoms daily that you have described. I have a mix of health anxiety, generalised anxiety disorder and social anxiety.
I am glad to hear you have had the all clear from the doctor
It might not feel like it right now but anxiety can be managed with therapy.
there are so many different kinds of therapy that can help so much with the mind and physical symptoms as they all create each other to happen.
I’m not sure what you have available in Australia but your doctor will be able to help.
Anxiety can be very scary, especially when it’s new to you, but just know you can do lots of things to gain back some of the control and live an easier and happier life.
I wish you all the best and hope you start to feel less anxiety in the near future
Hey Ellie thank for you replied and support here. Really amazing here such as short time and getting many people support and reply. I'm feeling the power from you guys! I practicing a lot of belly breathing and do a lot of biking at least 3-4 times a week after work every time around 12KM. Hopefully one day anexity just leave me alone.
It is a really good place to come and speak to people that understand how you are feeling and can offer lots of support and different things to help.
That’s great with the biking and breathing.
I do mindfulness meditation daily which helps me to focus on the here and now through the day rather than live so much in your head which then spirals and sends the message around the body to make the body react and so on. It’s hard work but with practice I have found it can really work.
Also I found CBT helped a lot. Or self help books. I use amazon audio books. The more learnt about anxiety and how it works, the easier it is to put things into practice.
At the start I was a total mess and was really bad for a good few years until I found what help was available.
I hope that you find the therapy to suit you , and keep up the good work that you are alreday doing 😊😊
I have met a therapy already but I don't feel like that much help, she just teach me how to do Breathing practice and told me when have physical symptoms just try to pretend those physical symptoms not there.
