If you are on the go and wondering what to take for lunch a great choice is tinned mackerel. Asda's own brand is extra good as it's in olive oil (most others are generally sunflower). Pop the can, drink the oil eat the fish you're good for the whole afternoon.
Tinned kippers are super too - no bones as processing dissolves them!

Great to hear from you after a long time! Why take tinned ones when fresh ones readily available!
We can buy and fry in olive oil or coconut oil or butter.
For protein of good Biological value, it is good. It is also good source of EPA/ DHA , though its benefits towards CV seems controvetsial from recent research . Nevertheless, EPA/ DHA has other benefits for mankind ..
But unfortunately this kind of fish comes from sea water which is getting polluted day by day and a lot of sewerage , drainage canals meet the sea at several industrial cities across the coastline and so along with high quality protein and EPA / DHA, I am afraid you may end up eating Hg, Cd, Pb, arsenic etc
3. You eat fish from the sea or you don't. Cook it or can it, your choice but Hg etc mainly a risk from very large predators such as swordfish, bluefin tuna. Mackerel aren't around for long enough to accumulate much of the nasties.
Your answer is quite convincing, though nowadays I don't take fish. I get my daily protein needs of good Biological value from free range omega 3 eggs and Parmesan Cheese which has 40% protein and 30% fat,
at times cottage cheese and Greek Yogurt though.
I take a lot of Non starchy vegetables all low Carbs- all varieties that is available -all colourful-Green, Blue, Red , yellow, pink, orange, available on earth to get all my fermentable fiber that my well diversified friendly bacterias need in the Gut.
LOL - I used to do that at school. We were dirt-poor when I was a kid, so I spent all of the money I earned (from various odd jobs) on food. I didn't realise my can of tinned mackerel counted as LCHF, but by trial and error I found it was the cheapest, most filling meal I could get.
