Do you still stick within your calories range on the LC/HF way of eating? Can you eat cream? Obviously without all the sugary things that go with it xxx

I eat cream. I’ll have berries- strawberries, raspberries and blueberries with a spoonful of cream on top for a pudding. The theory is that when you eat fats they fill you up faster and for longer and by eating better you hopefully eat less and in my case I’d say that’s true. When the manufacturers take the fat out of a product like say yoghurt they replace it with sugar or sweetener so you get hungry again quite quickly. So no I don't count calories but I eat normal sized helpings - look at the book Carbs and Cals

amazon.co.uk/Carbs-Cals-Car...

for an idea of portion sizes - and I don’t eat between meals either.

Your body will do this all by itself. You'll feel full at the right point, with no need to count anything. In fact it is extremely unwise to attempt to do calorie-controlled LCHF, because you will be hungry and tempted to subvert the diet.

Most people find their appetite is drastically reduced, so that they don't feel the need to eat much (at least in comparison to what you were eating before).

Can you eat cream?

Yes. In fact you should eat cream!

As per the post above, I strongly recommend getting a book. There are also a few introductory posts here:

Hi Tulip1977, I do count calories I notice that on most days though I am completely full at 900 calories. However, when I make something really tasty like chicken mayo salad with bacon then I really have to watch portion sizes as I could easily eat waaaay over what I should.

I don't have a target for calories but the checker I use to count carbs gives that information too. And I noticed that I actually struggle to eat enough calories on my low carb diet (85-90g a day). While I love raspberries with cream, I often feel too full to eat that plus cheese/oil in the same meal for example.

And I keep forgetting to put butter on my veg now I now longer eat butter and toast every day.

I don't feel hungry, so adding in more protein and fat can be difficult, but my weight loss slows down if I don't eat enough ...

Ice cream I’m afraid isn’t low carb. I make my own by whisking frozen berries into double cream with a little liquid sweetener
