I am always tired. I feel like I could sleep my life away. I sometimes enjoy sleeping more than being awake. I know I need iron, but this is really scaring me.

Always TIRED!!!!
I hear you. Rest when you have to, your body is telling you it needs to recover. Do you take a multivitamin? That might be an idea worth looking into. Hope things get better for you...sometimes a brisk 10-minute walk helps, too. Then you can rest after that.
Maybe u r depressed? I know I went through that . I still have days that I have to take a nap, but then I’m up all night. Like tonight.
I have also had major dental issues. I was just told I have an abscess tooth and need an implant. I am getting a 2nd option but it has rocked my world.
I have a sore muscle in my neck that just will not go away and everything always seems worse
So I think I may have depression
Doris,
That kind of fatigue is frightening. I have had it for so long that I got diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome about four years ago. I don't have any solutions; all I can offer is sympathy and support.
Some people benefit from walks as Ltinny suggests, but others of us find that exercise makes the fatigue worse, not only immediately after, but the next day or two after.
Talk to your doctor about whether your fatigue is from the ITP or another cause. You may have two conditions working against you. Finding out whether there's another cause may help you come up with a way to alleviate your fatigue.
Let us know what you find out and how you're doing.

I too have just been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome I wonder if they pair together ?? I have just sat out in our beautiful sunshine need a sleep now what happens you do nothing feel more tired : )
A lot of people on this list report being tired when their platelets are low. Mine have been holding steady in the safe zone for almost five years, but the fatigue persists (and persists and persists…).
My exhaustion started after I had my Rituxan infusions in 2013. A lot of people — I think the statistic is 39% — get fatigue after Rituxan, but it usually goes away after some months. One of the markers of Chronic Fatigue is chemical sensitivity, including to medications. (See cfidsselfhelp.org/library/m... So you may want to review all your medications and supplements.
I find the condition endlessly frustrating and stressful, which of course makes it worse.
Let us know how you're doing!

Hi SporRose I read the article you suggested it sums up exactly how I feel. I was also diagnosed years ago with CFS, at the time it was brought on by servere stress, and lasted over 1 year, once I realised the problem I started to partmetalise and priorities my problems and then it seemed to mainly go. About 3 years ago I had more servere stress due to family problems that have just been kept adding to and 2 years ago I was diagnosed with ITP, I’m sure there is a connection between the 2. Servere stress definitely seems to be a trigger point. I am hoping that some of my problems with be sorted next month and will then see what happens with my platelets hopefully once some of the stress eases I will feel a lot better I will update on this. Has anyone else found this connection
Not necessarily your platelet count causing this. Get your Vitamin D levels checked. Mine were lower than a snakes belly; the doc gave me some high dose Vitamin D to take over 3 months, and it made all the difference.
I also find that the perimenopause doesn't help either!!
I agree with vitamin d but also good sources of iron helps and really for me it’s about pacin myself makes all the difference
Thank you everyone I appreciate all the support. I feel like the doctors are a joke anymore. I need Iron and I can't get the kind I am used to taking that makes me feel a little better. I going to try to get a little more exercise to see if that will help.
Thank you for all the support!
