HI SARASWOTI. The simple answer is 35000 is low but you can live a normal life with that level. Many, like me, have lived with a count of 10,000 for years with no medication unless needing surgery. Tiredness is a problem. Live a normal healthy lifestyle with good food and just be mindful of the dangers. So go enjoy yourself and do not worry.

The key thing Saraswoti is not JUST the platelet count. You need to look at the platelet count as one indicator but also have to consider other symptoms. So look out for bruising, nose bleeds, blood in the gums, possibly blood in the urine and or stools. As Sailor has said we all get by with different levels of platelet count. Some people get no other symptoms at all even when they have a count as low as 10 whereas others get bruising, bleeding with a count around 25. In my own experience I got no other symptoms apart from tiredness until my count went below 20. Tiredness is absolutely a common symptom of ITP and you may wish to check out the following link for other key symptoms....

That said if you are in doubt at any time do get checked out. The only way to check platelet count is by having a blood test.

35k is safe but low. 20+ the doctors won't treat with medicine. I find vitamins good diet and rest really helps my count. I take b12 vitamin k and d. eat kale try not to worry some platelets are large so still function well so ask your doctor if they can look at them.

I've recently returned to exercising after two months of mostly resting and getting extra naps due to tiredness. I now exercise most mornings - strength, Pilates and three times a week I do half an hour of cardio (swim or static cycle). My platelets recently came up even though I'm only on 5mg of pred. (and tapering off).

I also cut out wheat after midday as it was making me feel more tired and eat more veg per meal. Trying out different vitamins and also aloe Vera juice.

Good luck!
