Antibiotic treatment

I have been on prednisone for 5 years. My doctor got my platelet count at 30,000. Everything was fine, until last Oct. My eye blackened & I went to the emergency room & my platelet count was 12,000. My doctor started me on a 6 month treatment, whereby I started with 40 mg of prednisone & instructed to reduce the dose by 5 mg. Each month, the count stayed in the 27-30,000 range, despite the number of pills that I took. Only one month, was higher & the count was 52,000. The next month it went back to 29,000. I believe that the increase was due to me taking a Z pack antibiotic for bronchitis. Has anyone been treated with an antibiotic & had there platelet count becoming consistently satistactory/
