Do I need to see a hematologist or blood doctor (oncologist)

I've been diagnosed with itp & have had it for well over 20 years. Over the years I've been seeing a hematologist with no good results. Does anyone see a blood doctor / oncologist? If so what is your experience?

Thank you

My ITP doctor is a haematologist/oncologist and he's kept me in good shape for over a decade now. If you're not getting good results, it's probably worth looking into a different care giver.

I have been seeing my hemotologist for many years with 3 monthly check ups either by phone or in person after blood test unless there a problem then get seen asap and been taken good care of have you discussed your feeling with your specialist ??

Hematologist. However, many doctors in the the US are both hematologist and oncologist.
