Do I need to see a hematologist or blood doctor (oncologist)

I've been diagnosed with itp & have had it for well over 20 years. Over the years I've been seeing a hematologist with no good results. Does anyone see a blood doctor / oncologist? If so what is your experience?

Thank you

My ITP doctor is a haematologist/oncologist and he's kept me in good shape for over a decade now. If you're not getting good results, it's probably worth looking into a different care giver.

Hematologist. However, many doctors in the the US are both hematologist and oncologist.
