There is a U.S. site pdsa.org which is for those with platelet disorders in the U.S.. Very informative, and has a section like this with questions and comments.

The ITP Support Association that started this forum is a UK based association so most here are from the UK.

Boynton Beach Florida here. In the USA! We're all in the same boat - sick with many issues. Monday I have my labs and appt. with my hematologist - always exciting. Can't wait to see all my abnormals! My husband and I try and guess my platelet count. Last monthy it was 58,000. For me, that was good.

I'm originally from New Orleans, LA but due to Katrina we are living in Mississippi. I am very jealous of the treatment options that the international members seem to have access to. I just had a splenectomy that did not go well because I felt pressured financially to chose because chemo wasn't an option with my insurance.
