hi, I had my liver resection in sept 2020 due to a large liver adenoma (tumour) inside that had ruptured (unknown to me that it existed). Nearly 3 years on, I still get so much pain around my scar which is all the way across my abdomen. In the last few months, my pain has been particularly bad around the area where my drainage pipe was. Sometimes when I sneeze, it feels like I’m being stabbed and just recently I was leaning over to reach my toe nails and it felt like something inside flipped and tightened, I was keeled over in horrendous pain for a few mins and then it stopped. I’m trying to lose a bit of weight because I bloat so easily and that can put pressure in my scar. However, is this normal??? I must have a lot of scar tissue and it was a major surgery. I worry about how it will feel when I have a baby and my stomach stretches.

can you speak to the team who did the surgery or your oncologist? I’m assuming you are still being checked every year?
