Im not sure if I'm here for help or if i need help but I just feel confused and anxious. It could be that i don't fully understand what has happened to me and not sure were to go for the information I need. Sometimes i feel like it's a burden on me and then I just block everything.

Confusion
Good morning Slowhands - this link has a lot of info that may answer some of your concerns cc-sn.org/information
It’s common to feel confused and anxious after being in ICU. ICUsteps has a booklet about recovering from critical illness, written by patients and healthcare staff, available online at icusteps.org/information.
I would say that despite your confusion you clearly understand that you need clarity. Only those who have been through icu will understand where you are coming from. It’s really important, I think not to block things having said that it can be difficult to talk to others including family. Exposing yourself is difficult. Also for men of a certain age their family role is very traditional, the reality is that they are very vulnerable and accepting that is difficult
Yes it can seem very confusing if you have been in ICU for a prolonged time, particularly if you had ICU delerium. Some memories can be haunting, but I have managed this by concentrating on the positives, namely I survived, the doctors and nurses ...we are so lucky to have the NHS.
Thanks and they are marvellous.
