Hi my brother is in ICU now for 2 weeks on Ventilator. He has sepsis, is on dialysis and has had an internal bleed in his bowel.. Is this common in severe Covid? We are terrified as we just don't know if this is what is expected.

I don’t know if his situation is common - but critical illness can create an avalanche of issues.
I got avian flu, strep A & double pneumonia that became sepsis, septic shock, multiple organ failure, severe ARDS, hypoxia, ademas, blood clots, blood transfusions, GI tract tears, leukaemia, dialysis etc etc.
As the body fails in one area - it creates another issue. My kidneys failed, my respiratory system then failed which caused my heart to fail.
I read only yesterday that kidney problem is an issue for Covid patients in the Guardian newspaper. My brother was critically ill with sepsis three years ago now and was placed in an induced coma and on dialysis. They told us the kidneys would be the last to heal and that was true. My brother went on to make a good recovery and I hope your brother does too. Best wishes to you and your family.
Yes my dad had five transfusions while in icu with covid back in March last year . X
