hello lovelies;
first of all i wanted to wish you all a very merry christmas. this last year has been difficult on many of us; some battling covid themselves, some watching their loved ones battle, others living the nightmare it has imposed on us. but i wanted to pop on to say a huge thank you to the loving members of this group i have grown to know and cherish as friends. you have all helped me from the moment i came out of ICU right up to today; and i know i can turn to this group whenever i struggle. you are all such kind and fierce spirits - and you should all be so incredibly proud of yourselves for coming through this tough year.
i also wanted to share my most recent good news...
1. after not being able to drink fizzy stuff since march this year; i took my first proper sip of lucozade the day before yesterday and i did NOT choke !!!
2. on the 20th December, i reached a huge milestone of being 1 year free from psychiatric inpatient admissions. i now vow to never set foot in them as a patient; only as a student or qualified nurse.
3. yesterday, i had to do the sprint of my life to get to a shop that closed in less than 5 minutes. it was about 250m away up two separate hills; and i managed to run to the shop and back to my car in a total of 3 minutes. i used to absolutely love running and haven’t been able to do it without my lungs caving in since the coma...so this is huge progress !
and finally...
4. this morning, i managed to actually GULP my coffee without choking on it !!!! first time !!!!
merry christmas my loves 🎄❄️
