thank you guys who responded to my message. I have been in touch with CAB today and they inform me im not intitle to any pip at all. But they are raising the issue higher up as they deem it so unfair that post covid and especially those who were in ICU with covid aren't getting the right help financially like myself. I took myself back to work aweek ago. Far to early as I had no choice. Pip won't help neither will universal credit as they say my partners wage should cover us. What they fail to realise is he has other commitments too. I was the one that paid for food bills ect. No wonder I'm suffering extra anxiety

That’s a strange response from CAB - take a look at YouTube link I sent - PIP doesn’t offer a fortune let me assure you - but it is graded lowest at around £24 a week upto £140 ( I think)

So although you won’t get much - you might get some. There is also New style employment allowance & job seekers Allowance - maybe you’ll be entitled to those.

That's so strange of CAB to say that to you, did they say why you are not entitled to it ? You are so right when people leave ICU their life has changed , hopefully not forever and this is the time when you need the financial support . Did you check the form and see what they scored for your mobility ?

Please appeal and get help filling it in.

Hi Jo. I am sorry to hear the news from CAB. One more suggestion. try turn2us.org.uk

They are a charity who can independently advise you on both benefits and other grants. You never know! worth a look.

best of luck! Pete

That really was a strange response you had from CAB, although I have also found them unhelpful in the past. Definitely worth trying other channels. My local council has a benefits maximisation team who were a great help in filling out the forms.
