I have recovered from covid about 7 weeks ..I also had a secondary infection and a temp of 41 for 2 days . Was in hospital on IV antibiotics. Could my hair loss be related to this? Hair loss started this week - clumps of hair and just seems to be falling out.Thankfully I didn't go into ICU but very close to sepsis . My hair loss seems to add up to this conclusion that many have faced with the flu and sepsis but unsure. Thanks xx
Hair loss from high temp?: I have recovered from... - ICUsteps
Hair loss from high temp?
Hmmmm tricky one, def speak to a nurse about it. I only know that when in coma, non essential functions like hair growth tend to cease, but if not in coma, it may still be linked and worth checking out
Apparently high temp can cause it too . After a sensible Google search xx
possibly stress too from being poorly . Dr spoke to me on phone and wasn't too sure x
I would say it will grow back pretty quickly. Mine did after sepsis and being in a coma following food poisoning. My nails and hair both suffered but grew back. I had my hair cut short so the new hair would catch up with what was left!
Well done for surviving what you went through it sounds pretty damn tough. Plenty of rest and good food, gentle exercise and talk about your experience to anyone who will listen! It worked for me so hope you recover quickly. Such an unpleasant episode to go through. Good luck. Xx
I ended up in ITU in a coma and my hair started falling out about two months after my discharge x
Hi I also had hair loss after sepsis shock lost more than half 9 months later hair back thicker thicker than ever try Hairburst chewies from boots the chemist good luck
