Mum had cardiac arrest 7days ago came off sedation yesterday hasn't woken up yet?

Mum is just off sedation 1 day ago for induced coma 7 days after cardiac arrest. Not waking up. Im worried. Doctors seem to be writing her chances off without a brian mri scan result yet. Shes coughed reacted to pain opened her eyes an her blood pressure and oxygen levels are grand plus kidneys are working too. Anyone any suggestions as they want to take ventaltor off her now saying she can breathe on her own but not giving her much hope of waking up my hearts broken any help or advice is appreciated im in Northern Ireland

It also took me 11 days to wake up after medically induced coma.

Was this after the sedation was taken off you? Can u remember anyone talking to you during that period. We are awaiting mri results tomorrow to see about brain activity thanks for your message

After the meds were taken off me. I had serious ICUdelirium so I have no idea what was real and what was hallucination -

What wer u hospitalised for. My mum had cardiac arrest an they are worried about brain damage but hopefully mri comes back decent tomorrow and she can waken soon. Thanks
