I’m so very glad your daughter is doing well. Now starts the recovery journey, it might be a good idea it you are upto it to ask if there is any follow up service. It’s good to know ahead of time that your not going to be left to deal with the aftermath alone. Also there might be support groups that will help you both long term. Once again I’m so very happy your daughter is out of the woods

I spent 3 nights not sleeping, and 3 months thinking I was dead. The journey ahead of her now really starts. The body is amazing, but please know this is a long, long recovery and she will need all the time and care in the world for the next few months, then mentally and emotionally she needs time also.

Check out ICUsteps to see if there is a group near you that you can attend, it was the only thing that made me realise I wasn’t mad x

She is very scared and thinks everyone is going to kill her I’ve sat with her hours just to try and calm her down she’s fine with me but everyone else even her dad she swears at .she is normally softly spoken and a bit shy xxxx

I called my husband a see you next Tuesday, and screamed at him to her on the plane (I was in a nightmare). It steadied itself after about 5 days, but she will be off her rocker for a bit. It’s perfectly normal

That's wonderful news it will take time but she will get stronger every day. I've now been out of hospital 3 weeks and walking with a frame and going onto crutches today. Take care x
