Anaemia iron

Any one else suffer from iron deficiency,

I am on warfarin and have no signs of bleeding, just wondering if anyone else has it ? Now on iron medication

Hi there, my rhuemy told me I was a bit anemic and told me to eat some steak....which is ironic as I dont eat meat!!

So I am eating more apricots and pumpkin seeds hoping it will do the trick. He said he thought it was probably due to my periods, although he didnt ask a lot of questions about them.....probably if I am still anaemic at the next blood test he will get me to take some iron tablets.

I was anemic until I accidentally discovered I also have Celiac. After going on a gluten free diet my hemaglobin and hematocrit rose to normal for the first time since 1959!

Low level food allergies can damage the Celia in the small intestine so they have difficulty absorbing iron and the B Vitamins. You might discuss this with your doc,( be frank about tummy and belly issues .).

Hi thank you for the diet advise. I am 55, I think.so I only get hot flushes these days, so won't be anaemic that way

The diets I will look at thank you. I have had a Gp phone call re result blood test and needing iron,

I have had problems with Wind which is getting worse, my Husband is really shocked at me

I went to the Doctor a different one she had put me on peppermint oil capsules.

She wasn't sure what to do with me.

I will try the Glutin free diet. Just have to do some shopping first
