I just want to say 'OUCH' I hope that helped in a small way - Mary F x

I have done this. Bruising can take forever to go away and sometimes I end up with a little hard ball under the fat (hematoma). Keep an eye on it making sure its not too big or painful- both things you would prob want to let your doc know about. Ice when it happens to restrict bloodflow and then heat a couple days later to bring blood to heal the area may help a little.

I have found that I have to watch where I inject to make sure no big surface veins visible where I am going for the poke.

I have also done this on numerous occasions. Yes you do really get whoppers for bruises, but they do go away!!!

Good luck to you!!!!!!!

I was told to give it a good long rub after injecting as it helps to disperse the liquid better - sometimes it doesnt disperse properly and can bruise and sit around a bit longer. Only if it stay for more than a week and becomes hot and painful should you worry. I found after a while once I was injecting scar tissue it bruised less and stung less xx

Hello I get massive purple bruises from injecting myself, I don't hit a vein, and its not the way I inject as im a nurse and inject my patients the same way, I don't rub it either because that will make the bruise much worse, I just bruise alot .

Hi Moonbug

Yes, I have done this quite a few times and had a small surface bleed when I pull out the needle. Sometimes I get big bruises, sometimes none at all. I have also had the hard lumps on occasions too.

Best wishes.

i have some bruises to to when i inject it and its normal to have local hematomas since its blood thinner. The nurses told me itll go away :) I inject it in the fats in my thigh.
