Well I have tried over a dozen, and have been refused by all but 2, one quoted £500 the other Quoted £775 for just 2 weeks to Europe :( - consequently, I am risking it and going un-insured hoping the warfarin and other drugs I take do their job.

Good luck in finding insurance for your trip

Freedom Insurance do quite a reasonable insurance for holidays, worth a try.

Thank you all who responded, I have just tried Freedom and after listing all my ailments initially for the annual cover it said to phone and try the single cover which I did and it come to 33.?? pounds which I did not think too bad. Just our luck I said to hubby that we plan something and told not to go, however it is only UK - I had to list 6 illnesses. Looking at how they list the conditions it makes me depressed!!!

Less thana month after having my heart attack I Was about to go on holiday Antiga I think, I phoned every insurance company, no one would insure me apart from the company that insure children on the make a wish foundation.MIA I spoke to a Nurse and she felt because I was on Clexane that I would be less likely to clot than anyone else. I have just written to the Hughes foundation website to see if there is anyone else that insures HUghes syndrome patients as it was quite expensive, sorry can't remember exactly how much maybe worth a try though, Good luck Karen x

I checked with my holiday insurance company, and they did not put it up one penny. That is with Marcs and Spencer, because I have a premium account I get holiday insurance free, also extra points for what I buy on the card and gifts throughout the year. quite a good deal, but I do pay it off every month.

I am insured through my bank account. I have not had a problem because my DVT was back in 1998. I have managed despite two scares to be problem free so this may be why my insurance has not altered.

I managed to get holiday insurance last year for £70 i think the company was AllClear it covered me for APS( on warfarin with history of clots),bronchiectasis,b12/folate deficiency and neutropenia. i usually go on the Moneysupermarket.com website and go to the Insurance for pre-existing medical conditions this way you only have to type in all your details and conditions once and it finds companies that will cover you for you

hope this helps x

Hi there. To all hoilday makers this summer. Columbus insurance are really good and will insure aps and epilepsy overseas its going to cost me appox 25 pounds for week austria. They are great over the phone and if remeber correctly you can get everything over the web so you included which important to being on the younger end of the age scale.

My list of padt problem does include a stroke as well and run inr of 3-4. Nothing seems to bother them.

My husband had to cliam last year after an accident and it was dealt with within a week of are return to the uk.

Hope this helps

clare.
