Just curious if you or anyone you know has had any correlation with APS and cancer?

Not that I know of

Recently had a discussion with a APS doc who mentioned that he hasn't ever seen a pt with APS have any cancers out of the tons he sees, and that's many!

Also, at UTMB in Texas there was some research that was promising using our antibodies to kill cancer! I wish I could remember which antibody it was and more about the research but was really interesting stuff- so our bad blood could be good blood for others someday!

Possibly the antibodies protect us somehow? Maybe there is a plus to having this sludgeblood!

Wow...that's awesome. I had an abnormal mammogram two days ago and have to go for a diagnostic mammogram on Tuesday. Of course the first thing I think of is breast cancer.

I went through this late last fall!! scared the hell out of me! It turns out was just tissue changes from the APS/Lupus and the doc wanted a followup for 6 mos just to be sure. He said he sees it all the time in Lupus patients but thinks I was the first APS patient he had.

Kristna....I am so nervous I cant stand it. They found micro calcifications which can be benign or malignant. Ugh. Waiting is torture.

Yes that is very interesting - i have had cin 3 abnormal cervical cells in my 30's but smears have been normal since treatment. I am just facinated with research & the clever scientists out there ;-) perhaps that should be a poll ;)

There is no direct link with cancer and APS but sometimes people can develop antiphosholipid antibodies after treatment. This seems to apply to lymphoma cancers but there may well be other links.
